#Q1047 - Using the Windows Task Manager to Close WorkingArtist.

If your computer freezes in WorkingArtist or in any other application, we recommend that you start the Windows Task Manager to properly close the application. You should not turn off your machine without a proper shut down procedure unless you have no other option.

To Start the Windows Task Manager in Windows 98/ ME/ Windows 2000/ XP/ Vista:

EITHER Simultaneously press the "Control", "Shift" and "Escape" keys on your keyboard to display the Windows Task Manager.
OR Simultaneously press the "Control", "ALT" and "Delete" keys on your keyboard. (Depending on your operating system you may need to select the Windows Task Manager).
1. In the Windows Task Manager, click on the “Applications” tab to display the Applications screen.
2. In the Applications screen, hi-light the application that is frozen and click on the "End Task" button.
3. If you receive an "End Program" message saying that the program is waiting for a response, click on the "End Now" button on the message screen.
Note. When you end a program in this manner, you may lose any unsaved data.

To Start the Windows Task Manager in Windows XP running on a Mac:

Simultaneously press the "Control", "Shift" and "Escape" keys on your keyboard to display the Windows Task Manager.
1. In the Windows Task Manager, click on the “Applications” tab to display the Applications screen.
2. In the Applications screen, hi-light the application that is frozen and click on the "End Task" button.
