If you are using Adaptec software in conjunction with your CD Writer, then the following instructions are the basics:

1. If you CD burner is external, make sure it was on before you booted your computer. If not, turn it on and reboot your computer.

2. Double-click the Easy CD Creator icon on your desk top.

3. Click on Data CD

4. In the Easy CD Creator window, four sections will display.

5. In the upper left hand section, locate the folder which contains the files you want to put on the CD and double-click on that folder.

6. In the upper right hand section, click on the file you want to include to highlight it, then click on the Add button on the toolbar. You can select more than one file by holding down your control key while selecting files, or by selecting the top file, holding down your shift key, then selecting the bottom file.

9. In the Create Options, select Create CD.

10. In the Write Method, select Disk At Once. Consult your Adaptec User's Guide to learn about the other options, these are the ones that I use.

11. Click OK. This should start the write process. You will be prompted to insert the blank CD into the CD burner.
