#Q1004 - Using WorkingArtist on a Mac. There is not a specific “Mac version” of WorkingArtist. We understand that there are many artists who use only Macs but there are also artists who only use PCs. Some use both PCs and Macs. As a company, we try to produce and support the best product that we can. Our expertise is with Windows. WorkingArtist was created in Microsoft Access, a Windows development database program and so it must run on the Windows operating system. We have previously suggested that Mac users install Virtual PC so that they can run WorkingArtist and other Windows programs on their Mac. However, new Macs are using a different architecture and so we suggest that new Mac users consider using either Parallels Desktop for Mac or Boot Camp. For either product, you will need to acquire and install the Windows operating system onto your Mac. Parallels Desktop for Mac www.parallels.com, enables you to run both Windows and Mac OS X Tiger at the same time. Boot Camp www.apple.com/bootcamp is a free utility from Apple now available in beta testing. Boot Camp creates a partition on the computer's hard disk and installs Windows to it. When the computer starts up, you can choose to run either Windows or Mac OS X but you cannot run Windows and Mac applications simultaneously. We recommend that you visit the respective websites to see which will best meet your needs. We recommend that you evaluate WorkingArtist on a PC before purchasing. If you would prefer to find an application designed specifically for the Mac, try a Google search on “Artist Software”. Back to the top | ||
